Wine School June 25th: Italy Part 3: Central Italy
Wine School June 25th: Italy Part 3: Central Italy
In this third installment of our Italy wine series, we’ll journey through the rolling hills and historic vineyards of Central Italy, the heartland of some of the country’s most iconic and time-honored wines. In this class, we’ll take a deep dive into the diverse regions that make up Central Italy’s wine landscape—most notably Tuscany, Umbria, and Abruzzo.
You’ll explore the iconic reds of Tuscany, including Chianti Classico, and uncover why Sangiovese reigns supreme in this region. We’ll also taste the structured, food-friendly reds of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, along with a bright, expressive Vermentino that showcases Central Italy’s potential for fresh, aromatic white wines.
Alongside the wines, we’ll discuss the role of climate, elevation, and soil, from the sun-drenched vineyards of Chianti’s hillsides to the clay and limestone-rich terrains of central Umbria, and how these elements influence the structure, acidity, and aging potential of the wines.
This is the third stop on our four-part journey through Italy’s iconic wine regions, and Central Italy brings the perfect mix of history, variety, and bold personality to the glass. Whether you’ve been with us from the start or you’re just jumping in, this class promises delicious discoveries and plenty of memorable pours.
Tickets are non-refundable, but they are transferable between friends! You can view our Cancellation Policy here!

Wine School July 16th: Italy Part 4: Southern Italy

STAGE RES: P's MEET UP: Shut Up & Write!(TM) Upper Valley
Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 5PM on Thursdays at Putnam's vine/yard.
Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done around other people doing the same thing.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Whatever you need to be able to write!
Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block the overhead music, or the conversation by other patrons.
GUIDELINES:
Space is limited so registration will be required. Link to register is coming soon.
SCHEDULE
5 - 5:15 - Arrive, get set up and make quick introductions
5:15 - Timer starts: write for 1 hour
6:15 - The End: chat, take off, or keep writing
OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating!) with other writers is a cool thing.
BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check in with us after the session. If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer. Also feel free to sit elsewhere if you'd like and touch base with us at the end.
