Book + Bottle: Sunday, July 26th 4:30-5:30PM

We’re excited for our partnership with our friends at Norwich Bookstore! Each month, Book + a Bottle brings together both familiar and new faces for lively conversation, thoughtful reads, and wines chosen to complement the story just as much as the discussion.

Our book for July is The Briar Club by Kate Quinn. This rich, atmospheric novel follows a group of women living in a Washington, D.C., boarding house during the height of the McCarthy era. Through shared secrets, unexpected friendships, and a central, gripping mystery, the story explores what it means to find community, resilience, and true connection while navigating the paranoia and rigid political pressures of the 1950s.

To pair with the book, we’ve chosen the Les Fleurs Blanches Vermentino. Much like the novel’s mix of elegant facades and deeply layered lives, this wine—a Mediterranean Vermentino and Grenache Blanc blend from Bruno Lafon—is both sophisticated and thoroughly quenching. It offers a crisp, stainless-steel-aged finish with vibrant, hand-harvested freshness—a true utopia of refreshment for a story about female solidarity, hidden truths, and the strength found in coming together.

Your Book + a Bottle pre-order includes:

A copy of the book

One curated bottle of wine

An invitation to our guided group discussion

Choose from two discussion dates:

Sunday, July 26th, from 4:30-5:30 PM
or Thursday, July 30th, from 6:30–7:30 PM

Please be sure to select your date at checkout.

Pick-up details:

Orders will be available for pick-up beginning June 23rd, and you’ll receive an email as soon as your bundle is ready. Please note that orders will be held for two weeks from the pick-up start date. After that, unclaimed orders may be forfeited.

Book + Bottle: Thursday, August 27th 6:30-7:30PM

We’re excited for our partnership with our friends at Norwich Bookstore! Each month, Book + a Bottle brings together both familiar and new faces for lively conversation, thoughtful reads, and wines chosen to complement the story just as much as the discussion.

Our book for August is Water Moon by Samantha Sotto Yambao. This luminous, deeply felt novel follows a young woman navigating the complexities of family expectations, grief, and self-discovery set against a beautifully rendered backdrop of change and tradition. Through its lyrical prose, rich emotional depths, and unforgettable characters, the story explores the delicate balances of love, identity, and the quiet resilience it takes to forge one's own path in the world.

To perfectly mirror the novel's elegant layers and crisp emotional resonance, this month's featured wine is the Paul D. Weissburgunder. Known for its bright acidity, clean minerality, and subtle notes of orchard fruit, this refreshing Pinot Blanc offers a beautifully balanced palate that elevates both the narrative’s nuanced themes and our evening's conversation.

Your Book + a Bottle pre-order includes:

A copy of the book

One curated bottle of wine

An invitation to our guided group discussion

Choose from two discussion dates:

Thursday, August 27th, from 6:30-7:30 PM

Wine School: Blind Tasting: Rieslings from Around the World (September 16th, 2026, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Ditch the labels and school your senses! In this interactive class, we’re stripping away the bottles to let the wine do the talking. Riesling is famous among sommeliers as the ultimate chameleon of the wine world, capable of expressing terroir like no other grape. We’ll guide you through the deductive tasting method to analyze a stunning lineup of global styles—ranging from bone-dry and electric to aromatic and lush. Whether you're looking to sharpen your tasting grid or just want to prove your friends wrong in a blind lineup, this class is the perfect mix of wine theory and sensory fun.

Tickets are non-refundable, but they are transferable between friends! You can view our Cancellation Policy here!

Instructor Bio: Victoria Tuzet

Originally from Montréal, Canada, Victoria recently relocated to the Upper Valley after several years in Southern California. A passionate traveler with a deep curiosity for wine, she plans her adventures around the world’s most celebrated wine regions whenever possible. Her wine travels have taken her through Napa and Sonoma in California; Bordeaux, the Loire Valley, Champagne, Provence, and Alsace in France; Valpolicella and the tiny towns of Tuscany in Italy; Spain’s Rioja and Cava regions; Portugal’s Douro and Porto; and even the volcanic vineyards of the Canary Islands.

Victoria spent four months living in Spain, immersing herself in the local wine culture, and later worked the 2022 harvest in France’s Rhône Valley, assisting with winemaking at an organic and biodynamic estate. She holds her WSET Level 3 Award in Wine and is currently completing the WSET Diploma, with expected graduation in 2026. When she’s not talking terroir or vintages, you’ll likely find her watching documentaries, attempting to bake, or crafting between tastings.

Book + Bottle: Sunday, June 28th

We’re excited for our partnership with our friends at Norwich Bookstore! Each month, Book + a Bottle brings together both familiar and new faces for lively conversation, thoughtful reads, and wines chosen to complement the story just as much as the discussion.

Our book for June is Mutual Interest by Olivia Wolfgang-Smith. This sharp, witty novel follows Vivian Lesperance and an unconventional trio as they build a soap empire in turn-of-the-century New York. Through secret romances and high-society ambitions, the story explores what it costs to live authentically while navigating the rigid social codes and power plays of the era.

To pair with the book, we’ve chosen the Chateau Thivin Beaujolais Rosé. Much like the novel’s mix of polished settings and hidden lives, this wine is both sophisticated and lively. It offers a crisp, clean finish with bright notes of wild strawberry—a refreshing choice for a story about ambition, secrets, and the bonds we choose.

Your Book + a Bottle pre-order includes:

Book + Bottle: Thursday, June 25th

A copy of the book
One curated bottle of wine

Free Tasting with Massimago & Masseria Cuturi

Free Tasting with Massimago & Masseria Cuturi

We’re thrilled to share that we’ll be welcoming Massimago & Masseria Cuturi to Putnam’s!

If these names sound familiar, there’s a good reason — we’ve proudly featured these wines throughout Putnam’s over the years: in our retail selection, poured them through Coravin, shared them during classes, and even tucked special bottles away onto our library list. Simply put, these are wines we genuinely love sharing!

Created by female winemaker Camilla Rossi Chauvenet, these family-owned estates span two incredible corners of Italy — from the rolling hills of Valpolicella to the sun-soaked vineyards of Puglia — with a focus on expressive, beautifully crafted wines.

Join us as Matteo, National Sales Director for these wineries, guides us through the wines, the regions, and the stories behind these bottles that have become such a special part of our program.

We can’t wait to raise a glass with you!

Wine School: Rolling Through the Rhône

A captivating wine region that effortlessly weaves together a stunning blend of nature, history, and vinicultural prowess. Traveling along the Rhône River, this region bears a range of wines that show off the area's terroir and its winemaking heritage that dates back centuries, resulting in every bottle telling a story of soil, climate, and the passion that winemakers pour into their craft.

The Rhône is usually divided into two sub-regions with distinct vinicultural traditions, the Northern Rhône and the Southern Rhône. The northern sub-region produces red wines from the Syrah grape, sometimes blended with up to 20% of white wine grapes and white wines from Marsanne, Roussanne, and Viognier grapes. The southern sub-region produces an array of red, white, and rosé wines, and often blends of several grapes such as Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

The entire Rhône region produces around 4 million hl of wine each year, of which over half is classified under the Côte du Rhône and Côte du Rhône-Villages appellations. The prestigious Northern Rhône appellations account for less than 5% of the total Rhône wine production. Join us as we sip, savor, and travel through a wine lover’s paradise.
