We’re excited to continue our partnership with our friends at Still North Books! Each month, Book + a Bottle brings together both familiar and new faces for lively discussions over thoughtfully paired books and wines.

In December, we’ll be reading The Wood at Midwinter by Susanna Clarke. In The Wood at Midwinter, nineteen-year-old Merowdis Scot finds solace in the winter woods, communing with animals and nature. When she encounters a mysterious figure in the forest, her quiet life is transformed, and she must navigate a path of unexpected change and self-discovery.

To pair with the story, we’ve chosen Haraszthy Family Cellars' Bearitage Lodi Red Blend, a mix of Zinfandel, Syrah, and Petite Sirah, with juicy notes of cherry, plum, and blackberry, and a smooth, easy finish that’s as enjoyable and layered as the tale itself.
