WINE SCHOOL: California Dreamin’
This classes focuses on California Wines! We will explore the state's unique terroirs, from the sun-drenched vineyards of Napa Valley to the cooler, misty regions of Sonoma Coast, highlighting how these climates affect grape cultivation and wine flavor profiles. We’ll walk through California’s winemaking history and review the specifics of popular varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. Additionally, we will cover modern sustainable and organic winemaking practices that are increasingly prominent in the California wine industry.

Instructor Bio:
We’re lucky to have Victoria Tuzet teaching Wine 101 in the Putnam’s classroom. Victoria is originally from Montréal, Canada and recently moved to the Upper Valley from Southern California. An avid traveler, Victoria has always prioritized world renowned wine regions throughout her adventures. Victoria most recently spent 4 months living abroad in Spain, where she was able to venture to a few nearby wine regions including Rioja, Cava and Porto. She spent the 2022 Harvest in the Rhône Valley, France, assisting an organic and biodynamic vineyard in winemaking production. She recently completed her Level 3 Wine & Spirits Education Trust Certification and is currently pursuing the WSET Diploma. In her spare time you can find her watching documentaries, attempting to bake, or crafting!
