Wine School June 25th: Italy Part 3: Central and Southern Italy

In this third installment of our Italy wine series, we’ll journey through the heart and soul of the country’s winemaking regions: Central and Southern Italy. From the rolling hills of Tuscany to the sun-drenched vineyards of Sicily, this class offers an in-depth exploration of the diverse landscapes and grape varieties that define Italy’s iconic wines. You’ll taste your way through bold reds from Central Italy, from Chianti Classico to Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, then move further south to savor wines made from Aglianico, alongside aromatic whites crafted from Fiano. Throughout the class, you’ll discover how unique terroirs—from the rolling hills of Tuscany and the volcanic soils of Mount Etna in Sicily, to the coastal vineyards of Campania—shape the distinct character of each wine. By the end of this class, you'll have a newfound appreciation for the vibrant wines of Central and Southern Italy, with a deeper connection to the regions that make them so special.

Instructor Bio:

Victoria is originally from Montréal, Canada and recently moved to the Upper Valley from Southern California. An avid traveler, Victoria has always prioritized world renowned wine regions throughout her adventures. Victoria most recently spent 4 months living abroad in Spain, where she was able to venture to a few nearby wine regions including Rioja, Cava and Porto. She spent the 2022 Harvest in the Rhône Valley, France, assisting an organic and biodynamic vineyard in winemaking production. She recently completed her Level 3 Wine & Spirits Education Trust Certification and is currently pursuing the WSET Diploma. In her spare time you can find her watching documentaries, attempting to bake, or crafting!
