Hector and Pablo Durigutti are two of the most well known young winemakers in Argentina. The brothers endeavor to make wines which capture the place and essence of each vineyard and vintage. Their backgrounds are quite complementary: Hector started at Alto Las Hormigas at the age of 15 and has completed 25 projects at various well known wineries, learning old world techniques and agriculture. Pablo started at La Rural, a winery now owned by Catena, and honed new world viticultural practices.
Since 2002 they have been dedicated to their project as a small family winey, producing only 3,000 bottles in their first year, but production has grown steadily. Today the brothers have evolved to form the new generation of winemakers, leading an evolutionary change in Argentina’s viticulture. With that same spirit, the Durigutti brothers craft their wines and have started to write their own history, a family legacy, in a chosen place where they live and work daily with dedication.
At the foot of the Andes mountain range, Mendoza offers a particularly rich diversity of soils optimal for producing high-quality wines. Since their beginnings in the family business, Hector and Pablo have been passionately dedicated to studying soils as specialists in terroir knowledge. This has allowed them to rediscover the potential of different microregions, and in particular of their estates, to identify the structure, unique characteristics, and potential of each plot.
Mineral-rich soils, pristine meltwater, pure mountain air, altitudes ranging from 2,950 to 3,930 feet above sea level, marked temperature ranges, and 10 to 15 hours of sunlight daily depending on the season are some of the outstanding characteristics that allow them to grow healthy, naturally organic crops.
All wines are certified organic and vegan friendly.
