Come by the vine/yard and enjoy a live, musical performance by local musicians Tom Horton Davis and friends!
Tom Horton Davis is a full-time jazz guitar enthusiast and part-time cancer doctor. He has a fondness for jazz standards, old guitars, and playing with friends in the Upper Valley jazz community. This month, we are honored to host Tom and Chloe Brisson at the vine/yard!
Chloe Brisson is a vocalist and composer that "..always gets to the heart of a song and conveys basic human emotions without resorting to excess of any kind" (All About Jazz). Her sound encompasses the classic tones of the jazz tradition, while layering a modern twist of folk, blues/rock, and alt-country into her repertoire choices and compositions.
Brisson earned a bachelor's degree in Jazz Voice Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music in 2017, where she won the Downbeat Student Music Award for Best Undergraduate Jazz Vocalist and performed at the Panama Jazz Festival. She later completed a master’s in Contemporary Performance at the Berklee Global Jazz Institute in 2018, receiving the 2019 Fellowship. As the vocalist for Ralph Peterson’s Gen-Next Big Band, she contributed to their album Listen Up!, which won the Rising Star Big Band category in the 68th Annual Downbeat Critics Poll. She most recently released Live at the 126, a live album recorded at a jazz club in Burlington, VT that celebrates the raw, imperfect, and joyful interplay of live music. Chloe currently lives in Brooklyn, NY, where she performs and teaches privately.
